Emergency services search the River Teifi in Cardigan on January 4 after Kurtis Brook, inset, is believed to have entered the water
Emergency services have been searching the River Teifi in Cardigan since Sunday, January 4 for 30-year-old Kurtis Brook, who plays for Maesglas FC.
Rescue teams first started scouring the river for Mr Brook, from Ceredigion, in the early hours of January 4 after receiving reports that he had entered the water at Castle Street at around 5.15am.
Dyfed-Powys Police, who have led the multi-agency search involving drones, dogs, specialist teams, the RNLI and Coastguard, confirmed on Friday evening that Kurtis has not been located despite the “large scale search”.
In a post on social media, Maesglas FC said it was “absolutely devastated” about the news regarding Kurtis. They described him as a “hugely respected and loved” player within the squad.
