Drug dealers fleeing police hit 103mph before crash

A DRUG dealer fleeing police because he and a colleague had crack cocaine worth more than £3,000 in their car reached 103mph before crashing into a council lorry and a parked vehicle.

Luke Jones, 28, was driving a Volkswagen Touareg in Cwmbran on September 26 with Louis Hall, 26, in the passenger seat when they realised they were being followed by a police car.

A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court on Thursday heard the car accelerated away and the police vehicle exceeded 103mph in order to keep up with it.

In Ton Road the Volkswagen collided with a council lorry and a parked car but despite the pair's vehicle being damaged, with pieces hanging off it, the chase continued as Jones drove into a residential area.

There he and Hall ditched the vehicle and fled on foot, but were caught.
