Lloyd Hamilton during his Army service

Army major has been stripped of his MBE over a fraud involving his children's boarding school fees.Lloyd Hamilton, from Neyland, Pembrokeshire, was awarded the honour for his charity work but this month it was removed because of a criminal conviction.

The ex-royal engineer was included on the 2011 Queen's Birthday Honours list for founding a charity that gave wounded soldiers a chance to take part in sailing races.

At the time he had just completed his third six-month tour of Afghanistan.
