County 'must be positive'
Western Mail
|September 13, 2025
MANAGER David Hughes admits that the result may be more important than the performance as Newport County aim to halt their losing run today, writes Andrew Penman.
County have lost their last six matches in all competitions and Hughes accepts that an ‘ugly win’ would be welcome at Tranmere Rovers this afternoon.
“We have to take some positivity from the fact that every game has been very close” said the Exiles boss. “A number of the goals we've conceded have come from unforced errors, but I can assure supporters that the staff and the players are doing absolutely everything to get another positive result on the board.
“We want to put on another positive performance [but] there’s a point in time where it doesn’t matter how you do it, you've just got to do it”
