Bus strike extended past Xmas, says union

BUS drivers and First Cymru workers have "significantly escalated" strikes by extending them over the Christmas period.

Staff are calling for a pay award of £15 per hour to bring them in line with Cardiff Bus and Arriva in North Wales.
It is affecting services in Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan.
The second period of strike action lasted until Saturday, November 8, following a first spell between October 30 and November 2.
There had been plans for a strike between October 22 to October 25, but this was called off as workers were balloted on a new offer which was rejected.
