2026 will be tough for Labour in Wales

AS THE year draws to a close, and 2026 is set to begin, everyone tends to look back at what they achieved, and what they hope to in the year ahead.

When interviewing Wales’ First Minister just before Christmas, it was notable to hear her try to cram in as many mentions of Labour successes as possible, a direct byproduct of the by-election result in Caerphilly two months earlier.
She said in the interview that the lesson her party learned from a drubbing in the Senedd by-election was that they didn’t do enough to talk about the positives, the differences they make to people.
