1,000 'text bombs' sent out in drugs conspiracy

A DRUGS conspiracy involving the purchase and supply of thousands of pounds' worth of cocaine and cannabis was discovered after a drugs line was found to have sent more than 1,000 “text bombs” to customers.

Many of the participants claimed they became involved in the enterprise in order to pay off their own drug debts.

Lloyd Davies, 23, Callum Pascoe, 22, and Ashton Cleverley-Jones, 19, were found to be involved in the conspiracy after police received intelligence about a drugs line being used to supply cocaine and cannabis.

The user of the drugs line was Davies, who bought cocaine upstream from Pascoe and used Cleverley-Jones as a drugs runner.

A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court heard “text bombs” were sent by the drugs line to up to 50 customers at a time.

Examples of the texts included “active rocket fuel” and “active, drops anywhere”.

There were also conversations between Davies and Pascoe regarding the purchase, sale and quality of cocaine, and between Davies and Cleverley-Jones in which he offered the runner £100 for making a delivery.
