Summer surge secures jobs, says ferry operator

BRITTANY Ferries, the cross-channel operator, has reported a surge in passenger numbers travelling between Plymouth and Europe - safeguarding jobs and returning the company to its pre-Covid success levels.

The firm experienced an overall 4% rise in passengers during the summer, with over 9,000 additional individuals travelling through Millbay on routes to France and Spain.

In total, more than 166,000 passengers used the Plymouth-Roscoff route, a 3% increase, and over 75,000 utilised the link to Santander, solidifying its status as the preferred route for Brits seeking the Spanish summer sun, up by 6%.
