A FARM attraction has defended the use of live reindeer at a Christmas lights switch-on event.

Two reindeer were displayed during the event in Wincanton last Friday, where animal rights campaigners held a protest.

Campaign group Animal Aid opposes the use of live animals at festive events.

Somerset Reindeer Ranch, who supplied the animals, deny the reindeer were distressed.
