Famous West resort's prospects are looking up, says coach firm

A SEASIDE town once branded one of the worst in the UK has been tipped as a top holiday destination for 2026. As reported by the Express, Weston-super-Mare was once slated as tatty and on its knees, but it has enjoyed a bump in visitor numbers of late following improvements.

FlixBus, a company that offers coach routes around the UK, looked at booking data, Google searches and TikTok insights to determine which areas of the UK are set to attract more visitors in 2026 and Weston-super-Mare apparently hits the spot for all the right reasons.

The town may have been named the worst seaside town in 2023 by consumer group Which?, but its fortunes could be about to change as consumers seek out cheaper alternatives, quirky places and nostalgia.
