Charlie donates Christmas bonus to charity

Bighearted West Lothian man Charlie Smillie has donated a work bonus to charity.

The mechanical engineer was voted employee of the month by his bosses at John Heaney Electrical (JHE) in Livingston.
However, instead of spending his award on his family at Christmas, Charlie, from Fauldhouse, chose to donate the cash to Cancer Research UK.
“It was a tremendous gesture from Charlie,” said JHE managing director Mark Heaney.
