Mayor embodies the spirit of enterprise and diversity

WELLS celebrated its new Mayor Louis Agabani at a mayor-making ceremony held at the town hall on Saturday.
Mr Agabani, the city's first black, Muslim Mayor, is from Sudan originally but has made Wells his home for many years and has been a city councillor for several years.
A statement on the Wells City Council said: "Louis is unique in so many ways. Becoming our first black and our first Muslim mayor, embracing the diversity that brings."
He is passionate about the local community in Wells and has worked tirelessly to try to improve things in the city for the people living there.
His latest drive is to support the volunteers pushing for a new skatepark in Wells, something he feels is really important for young people in the city.
Mr Agabani, who came to England from Sudan aged 10 and without a word of English, went on to study economics at the University of London.
