DANCER AMY GETS NEW APPRENTICE!

THE new series of Strictly Come Dancing kicked off last night - and it saw Wales’ dancing star Amy Dowden get a new celebrity partner.

The special launch episode of the hit BBC show revealed which professional dancers this year’s 15 celebrities were paired with. This includes Amy who is coupled with The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner.

Just hours before the programme aired, the Caerphilly-born ballroom dancer, who is making her long-awaited return to the Strictly floor after a difficult few years due to health battles, took to Instagram to share her excitement with fans.

Amy, 35, was forced to largely miss the 2023 series after being diagnosed with breast cancer and withdrew from the competition in 2024 after injuring her foot.

But the fan-favourite professional dancer posted on Instagram yesterday saying: “Today's the day! I’m strictly rrrrrready, are you? Make sure you tune in tonight 6.40pm bbcl to see who I've been paired with! Can't wait”
