One of life's little treats, for me, is adding a hotel stay on to the end of a busy day out. It makes the whole experience so much more special - and saves us driving home exhausted.

We had enjoyed visiting Warwick Castle - one of our favourite places as a family - and then had the added luxury of staying in its newest hotel, which blends beautifully into the surroundings, looking just like a medieval long hall.

Each room at the Warwick Castle Hotel sleeps two adults and up to three children and gives a nod to the War of the Roses with rose motifs, chambers draped in rich coloured fabrics, bespoke tapestries and shields.
