Wrongly jailed for crime of Sally Anne killer

A DAD wrongly jailed for a rape committed by Sally Anne Bowman's killer is begging him to admit his other crimes so he can prove his own innocence.

Dutch national Romano van der Dussen, 52, was convicted of sexually attacking three women in Spain in August 2003.

DNA evidence later linked Mark Dixie - who murdered model Sally Anne, 18, in Croydon, South London, in 2005 - to one rape.

But despite Romano writing to Dixie in HMP Frankland, Co Durham, three times asking for him to confess to the other two, the serial sex attacker maintains he cannot remember.

It means Romano is still guilty in the eyes of Spanish law of two rapes, even though his DNA did not match and his original trial heard all three women were raped by the same man.
