St Nic's late season cheer

NICOLAS JACKSON bagged his first goal this side of Christmas to gee Chelsea up for the run-in from hell.

Everton at home is no gimme, and it didn't play out like one, but the fixture list only gets tougher from here as the Blues hunt down a spot in the top five.

It was a tense 90 minutes for Enzo Maresca, who served a touchline ban in the stands knowing that nothing less than a win would do ahead of clashes with Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest down the stretch.

And he punched the air when Jackson ended a 13-game goal drought with a venomous strike from range.

David Moyes (right) turned 62 on Friday, and a first-ever win at Stamford Bridge as a manager would have been cause for further celebration. But his, and Everton's desperate winless run on Chelsea turf will go on for a while longer.
