FLEETWOOD MAC had another Ryder Cup hit. And Team Angry were all smiles as Europe's stars continued to shine in the sun on Long Island.

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

The toughest USA opposition on show came from the hostile American crowd.

Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm joined skipper Luke Donald in winning the first six foursomes matches of their Ryder Cup careers.

Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy also remain unbeaten as a pairing after they beat Harris English and Collin Morikawa for the second time this week.

And Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are now 5-0 together after taking out the top US pairing of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.

Bryson DeChambeau won his first point of this Ryder Cup, in the opening foursomes, playing with Cam Young

But world No.1 Scottie Scheffler suffered a hat-trick of opening defeats delivering another flop in a miserable Cup for him so far.

By contrast, all the European big names have delivered together.

Fleetwood, who went 4-0 with Francesco Molinari in the 'Molliwood' pairing of 2018 in Paris, is now 4-0 in foursomes with Masters champion McIlroy in the past two Ryder Cups.

Asked why they combine so well, the Everton fan smiled: "It's Rory McIlroy. I can play from a lot of the places where he hits it.
