MOH deploys 34-member emergency medical team to Myanmar

A 34-member emergency medical team has been deployed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide humanitarian assistance in Myanmar in the wake of a 7.7-magnitude earthquake.
The Singapore Emergency Medical Team (SGEMT) comprises professionals such as doctors, nurses and allied healthcare professionals, as well as personnel with technical and logistical expertise, said MOH in a statement on April 3.
This will be SGEMT's first deployment since it was formed in September 2024. The team left for Myanmar on April 3 and is expected to be on site for the next 14 days.
