41 cases of under-declaration, tax and duty evasion at Singapore Cruise Centre

A man carrying gemstone rings and a woman found with gold jewellery were among the 41 cases caught during a five-day joint operation by the Singapore Customs and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
From Sept 4 to 8, the two authorities detected 36 cases involving duty-unpaid cigarettes and five cases involving goods subject to the goods and services tax (GST) at the Singapore Cruise Centre, said the Singapore Customs on Sept 27.
