TMC leaders stage sit-in after CCTV failure at UIT strongroom

Trinamul Congress candidates staged a sit-in protest outside the UIT building today after CCTV footage outside the Ausgram constituency strongroom went blank for over an hour, raising fresh security concerns on the eve of counting.

The University Institute of Technology building at the Burdwan University complex will host counting for Bardhaman Uttar, Bardhaman Dakshin, Bhatar, Ausgram, and Galsi constituencies.

According to TMC leaders, the CCTV camera in front of the Ausgram strongroom was nonfunctional from 9:24.a.m. to 10:37 a.m.

Ausgram TMC candidate and Purba Bardhaman Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Shyama Prasanna Lohar, along with Memari TMC candidate and district in-charge Rashbehari Haldar and other leaders, sat on a dharna on the footpath outside UIT demanding the missing footage.
