BSF Eastern Command celebrates forces' raising day

The Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrated its 61st Raising Day today, marking six decades of exceptional service in securing India’s borders and maintaining national security.
Raised in 1965 in the aftermath of the Indo-Pakistan War, the BSF has been entrusted with the responsibility to guard India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The Eastern Command BSF, raised in the year 2008, has been supervising the security of the International Border with Bangladesh. Besides, BSF is also committed for maintaining law & order duties in Manipur and performing CI-Ops duties in Nagaland.
