Tathagata Roy cautions BJP central leadership, Amit Shah & JP Nadda ahead of 2026 polls

BJP's former Bengal president and senior leader Tathagata Roy has once again taken aim at the party's central and state leadership, cautioning them against "repeating the same mistakes of 2021" in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
In a sharp message directed at Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J.P.Nadda, Roy said that the party's disastrous strategy of relying on defectors from Trinamul Congress had cost it dearly. Referring to the recent developments around former Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee - who has been appointed chairman of the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) within 48 hours of meeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee - Roy said BJP's decision to induct leaders like Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Dutta, and Rajib Banerjee ahead of the 2021 polls had proved to be "a monumental waste of resources."
