Asansol ER division improves punctuality

In 2024-25, Mail/Express train punctuality rose from 80.85 per cent to 83.36 per cent, passenger trains from 52.62 per cent to 64.06 per cent, and overall punctuality increased by 1.10 per cent

Asansol division of Eastern Railway has registered a notable improvement in punctuality regarding scheduled timings of trains, reflecting enhanced operational efficiency and better service for passengers and freight movement.

Punctuality is a crucial performance parameter in railway operations, ensuring the timely arrival and departure of trains. It plays a key role in optimising resource utilisation, reducing congestion, and enhancing overall reliability.

As per the latest performance data, Asansol division has recorded significant improvements in punctuality across multiple parameters in 2024-25 compared to the previous year (2023-24).

The punctuality of Mail/Express trains has increased from 80.85 per cent to 83.36 per cent, registering a 3.10 per cent improvement.
