There is a need for collective efforts to conserve traditional and nearly extinct indigenous seeds right from the planning stage,
" emphasized Ramesh Swain, Koraput District In-charge of CYSD.
He was speaking at a traditional seed exchange festival organized on Monday at Boipariguda on the 30th Foundation Day of 'Prayas', CYSD's field office. The event was held in collaboration with local farmers involved in traditional seed conservation and volunteers from various grassroots organizations.
