State moves to ensure foolproof fire safety measures in Govt. healthcare institutes

The state government has made a provision of Rs.300 crore for ensuring fire safety in Government-run healthcare institutions right from medical college hospitals to dispensaries in the village level.
The State's Health Secretary Ms Aswathy S, who undertook a review of the fire safety position in Government hospitals said "priority has been laid to prevent fire mishaps in Operation Theaters (OTs), Intensive Care Units (ICUs), Special Newborn Care Units (SNCUs), and heavy power load installations like CT scan/MRI machines which are more prone to electrical incidents".
