Markets End Lower After Four Days of Selling

The stock market ended lower on Monday after a fourth day of selling, but Nifty 50 managed to hold on to the 25,000 level.

The broader markets closed with gains, with buying seen across the sectors barring IT shares.

At close, Sensex settled at 82,253.46, down 247 points, or 0.30 per cent, while the Nifty 50 ended the day 68 points, or 0.27 per cent, lower at 25,082.30.

Broader indices outperformed the main indices, with BSE Mid and Smallcap indices rising 0.5 per cent each.
