Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, concluded a week-long observance of World Suicide Prevention Week (8-13 September) with a valedictory ceremony at its Vyasa Vihar campus, marked by strong participation from students, faculty, mental health professionals, and community representatives.
Presiding over the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy delivered an emotional address, recounting his own struggles with despair and underscoring the importance of resilience and hope. "Every life is precious. Every conversation matters. Together, we can build a society rooted in empathy," he said, urging students to cultivate positive support systems.
The University rolled out a series of initiatives during the week, including Street Play – I Too Want to Live, Awareness Rally (Sept 11), Panel Discussions & Workshops, Creative Competitions (Sept 9).
