Ouaddou era begins with ambitious pre-season

ORLANDO Pirates sent ripples through the South African football landscape on Monday by making the surprise appointment of Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou as their new head coach.
This announcement follows José Riveiro’s departure from the club at the end of last season. Judging by the reaction on social media, Ouaddou's appointment caught many off guard.
Previously, speculation had been rife that former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena was the front-runner for the position. Mokwena resigned from his post at Botola side Wydad AC just two months ago.
In their official statement, the club expressed optimism about the appointment: “Orlando Pirates are pleased to announce the appointment of Abdeslam Ouaddou as the new head coach.
