Youngsters ‘off to a flying start’

CELEBRATING: Pupils and staff at Alexandra Infants' School.

A SCHOOL that was found to require improvement three years ago has been rated outstanding for personal development in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Alexandra Infants' School in Normacot achieved good ratings across the other four areas - quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management and early years provision - assessed in the inspection.

In their report, inspectors said that children 'get off to a flying start' in their education at the school and were 'happy and cheerful'.

The report added: "The school has high expectations for pupils - nothing is considered a barrier to learning for any group of pupils. They work hard in lessons and most reach the high expectations, they are polite, respectful and well mannered.
