Youngsters aims to cut a dash in paint run for the Dougie Mac

EIGHT primary school pupils are swapping their uniforms for a splash of colour to raise funds for Dougie Mac.

The girls - and some of the mums - are gearing up to take part in the Dougie Mac Colour Dash where they will join hundreds of other participants to walk, run, skip and dance their way through the one kilometre course.

The 'Rainbow Racers' was the brainchild of Laura Mottram whose dad, Brian, spent the last weeks of his life being looked after by Dougie Mac.

Laura's daughter, Martha, encouraged her fellow pupils at All Saints' CofE School in Leek, to join her for the Colour Dash which is taking place at Wedgwood Cricket Club on Sunday, June 1.
