Boss Moore demands fresh Vale focus for Mansfield challenge ahead of big midweek Arsenal tie

- Chris Travers

DARREN Moore says Port Vale must put their first victory of the season to the back of their minds as they prepare for the next League One challenge.

The Valiants won for the first time in the league at the eighth time of asking with a 2-0 triumph at Exeter City last weekend.

Ruari Paton and Devante Cole were the goal heroes but experienced boss Moore insists his squad must build on that success.

It's a home fixture on the agenda for the Valiants tomorrow when they entertain Mansfield, looking to make it back-to-back League One wins.

“The atmosphere and camaraderie around the boys, there's a bit more of a spring in their step - not to say that had gone away,” said Moore in his pre-match press conference.

“But a win always does that and it was a relief given the efforts and energy we've put in since the start of the season.
