MP raises concerns with Severn Trent

A MAJOR update has been announced on ambitious plans to replace 40km of water pipes over the next two years.

In April Severn Trent revealed proposals to replace the ageing pipes to combat issues such as water leaks and pipe bursts.

Now nearly six months into the project and 14km of pipes have been replaced and work is on target.

The project has seen rolling road closures around Hanley, Sneyd Green, and Burslem while pipes are being replaced.

More than £25 million is being spent on the project by Severn Trent, which they hope will provide a reliable water supply long into the future.
