Experienced defender is fifth new signing for Vale as boss Moore shapes squad for League One

FORMER England youth international Cameron Humphreys has become Port Vale's fifth new addition of the summer.

The 26-year-old made 50 appearances in the Championship with Rotherham United from 2022 before the expiry of his contract this summer.

Vale boss Darren Moore has snapped up the central defender on a two-year deal and he is sure to bring much-needed experience and solidity at the back for the Valiants.

Humphreys also impressed in a midfield role when called on for The Millers and will now join up with his new team-mates for pre-season.

Moore is preparing the squad for their first pre-season friendly at Newcastle Town, tomorrow, ahead of a new challenge back in League One.

He said: "We're really pleased to have Cameron joining us. He's a commanding centre-half who is confident in possession and another player who has plenty of experience behind him at a high level.
