'The court's patience with you has run out'

Pervert back behind bars after breaching orders again by failing to tell cops about Samsung tablet under his sofa

SEX offender Michael Hampson failed to inform police he had a Samsung Galaxy tablet.

The 35-year-old initially lied to officers and claimed a Samsung Galaxy box next to his settee belonged to a former resident.

But officers discovered the tablet under the sofa and Hampson was arrested. It was the 10th time he had breached a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Now Hampson has been jailed for 16 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

SHPO rules mean Hampson cannot use any device capable of accessing the internet and must notify the police within three days of its acquisition.

The device must retain its internet use history and he must make it available for inspection.

But when police attended Hampson's home on October 17 they discovered the Samsung tablet.
