Shops' dodgy goods leave former director facing £6,000 court bill

Businessman had been warned before raids carried out

A FORMER business director is facing a court bill of more than £6,000 after goods were found for sale without correct labelling at two Stoke-on-Trent stores.

Electrical goods and cosmetics were seized from Bargain World, as well as vapes which were larger than the size permitted by UK regulations.

Soultani Ullah admitted eight charges in connection with Bargain World (Stoke-on-Trent) Ltd at Ford Green Road, Smallthorne, and Bargain World (BBM) Limited in High Street, Tunstall.

The 49-year-old is no longer the director of the two businesses, magistrates heard on Monday.

Rowena Yu, prosecuting on behalf of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said items seized included portable wireless speakers, a puncture repair kit, two drills, a lamp and hair weave extension.
