A WOMAN has been handed a fiveyear ban on owning pets after her dog was discovered 'on the brink of death'

Victoria Martin's house was littered with faeces and soaked mattresses when police turned up at her door.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard one dog was barely surviving among the filth and Martin had demonstrated 'extreme neglect.' Prosecutor Charlotte Morgan said: "The dog was discovered in a malnourished state. Its ribs were clearly visible.
