Pervert jailed after abusing schoolgirl

The 40-year-old claimed his victim was making it all up

PERVERT Antony Birkin has been jailed after sexually abusing a schoolgirl.

The 40-year-old touched his young victim sexually and caused her to engage in sexual activity. Now Birkin has been jailed for nine years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. He has been made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.

Birkin, of Grasmere Avenue, Newcastle, had denied four charges of sexual assault of a child under 13; four charges of sexual assault; and two charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. But he was found guilty by a jury of all the offences after a trial.
