Mum handed 3-year ban after neglecting her pets

She had caused unnecessary suffering

A MUM-of-three kept her emaciated pets in a filthy home covered in faeces and rubbish.

Lauren Sissons had two German Shepherds, a cocker spaniel, a cat and a terrapin at her Hanley home.

But a social worker alerted the police due to the state of the animals after visiting the address on March 26.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard one of the German Shepherds was described as being ‘skin and bone,’ balding, with a growth hanging from its chest. The other dog was also emaciated with skin conditions, and neither of them were able to stand due to their malnourished condition. The cocker spaniel was ‘excessively scratching’ and thin with matted fur around its ears.
