MP leads way on town flood crisis

Top minister visits road plagued by decades of deluges

THE Government's floods minister has praised action being taken to tackle a decades-long problem in the north of the county town.

Homes and businesses in Sandon Road, Stafford, have been hit with deluges on several occasions over the years following heavy rainfall and flooding incidents are increasing, the town's MP Leigh Ingham has said.

Last week she took Emma Hardy, Minister for Water and Flooding, on a visit to areas and residents affected by flooding. Despite the dry weather, puddles of water were still present near the Shell Garage on Sandon Road.
