He threatened to cut a married couple into pieces and kill them

- Sentinel Reporter

A KNIFEMAN repeatedly stabbed a man on a Tesco car park after a row broke out.

Pavel Stefanovic launched his attack after he was approached by a fellow Lithuanian in the Meir Park store.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the two men went outside and Stefanovic produced a Stanley knife and slashed at his victim leaving him with several cuts including to his hand, arm, legs and nose.

Now Stefanovic, aged 39, of Charnwood Road, Meir, has been jailed for 29 months. The sentence means he is likely to be deported.

Prosecutor Jamie Scott said the victim was shopping in Tesco with his wife on the afternoon of December 30, 2022 when he recognised Stefanovic from a YouTube video. They began to speak and the man asked if Stefanovic would prefer to speak in Russian.
