36-year-old has Millers Fisher syndrome

A MAN caught red-handed when drugs ‘fell from his buttocks’ is not fit to be sent to prison following a serious decline in his health.

Jamie Yates, 36, was arrested when police stopped his BMW and found a backpack containing wraps of cannabis and magic mushrooms on March 29 2021.

And whist being searched in searched in custody, police found three wraps containing cocaine. Police also found a text message insinuating the sale of cannabis on his phone although it couldn’t be proven that a sale had taken place.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard that since the drugs find, Yates, of First Avenue, Porthill, has developed Miller Fisher Syndrome which has made his health and eyesight rapidly deteriorate.
