Knypersley's fighting spirit to the fore as they earn Alsager victory

James Leese made 24 for Knype, but they were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 61-6 at one point.

However, they rallied superbly as Andrew Jones and Rob James hit half-centuries to guide the visitors to 230 all out.

Jones hit 11 fours in his 62, with James striking 10 boundaries and two sixes in his 58.

Lee Fallows (47) was also in fine form, while Adil Javed (5-39) led the Alsager bowling effort. There were also a couple of victims for Dave Kelly.

That total looked to be well within range for Alsager once they made their way to an imposing 171-1.

Andrew Watkins was front and centre of the charge as he smashed 17 fours and five sixes in a 69-ball 113.

Billy Strong (30) and Kevin Leigh (25) helped the hosts' cause, but their reply soon hit the buffers.

Alsager, with victory in their sights, slid to 213 all out as Fallows scooped 3-34 and there were two wickets apiece for Daniel Hancock and Leese.

Stafford seconds eased to the points at home against Moddershall & Oulton fourths.
