It'll all get clearer with Clearing!

THIS week marks an important milestone for school and college leavers across the UK as they receive their A-level, T-level and BTEC results.

It is both an exciting and nerve-wracking day for many young people, which will determine the next steps in their educational journey. I remember my own results day, anxiously waiting to discover whether I had secured the grades to get a place at my chosen university. It can feel like there is a lot riding on the opening of that envelope and on that piece of paper.

My advice, whatever the outcome, is to take a moment to pause. Take some space and time to digest the information you have in front of you. If you need to think about alternatives, don't panic. The key thing, ahead of results day, is to get prepared and know your options - just in case you need them.

It is important to remember that results day presents an opportunity. Through Clearing, universities will be filling thousands of places still available on courses. Whether you've changed your mind about where or what to study, have received unexpected results in your exams, or have just started thinking about university, the Clearing process enables students to take control of their future.

At University of Staffordshire, we have many students who have excelled after coming through Clearing, including recent Architecture graduate Jeremiah Hough who didn't get the A Level grades he expected.
