Humphries joins the list of world's darting elite - with a bit of support from the legend down the D-road!

LUKE Humphries became just the fourth player to win darts' Triple Crown after beating Luke Littler in the Premier League final and then thanked Potteries legend Phil Taylor for his help in making his dream come true.

World number one Humphries, from Crewe, edged out the teenage star 11-8 at London's O2 Arena to win the tournament for the first time.

He joins Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson in completing the set of the three biggest competitions in the sport, having already won the World Championship and the World Matchplay.

And his first thought after claiming the TV title was to thank Taylor, the 16-times World Champion from Burslem - the acknowledged greatest player in the game's history.

He told Sky TV: "I must say to Phil Taylor a big 'thank you' because he's been giving me a lot of support over the past few weeks. It's really helped me so Phil if you are watching, thank you.
