Home games give Valiants chance to crank up entertainment

PORT Vale writer CLIVE YOULTON has his say on the latest Valiants news...

THERE'S no reason why Port Vale can’t go and beat Stockport County on Monday night in front of the Sky TV cameras.

Picking the right team will again be the job of manager Darren Moore who will be expecting his men to put right the wrongs of defeat at Wigan Athletic.

The question remains who he will pick and which players he might have returning from injury.

There are also the players he has left on the periphery of the team to consider such as Funso Ojo, Rhys Walters and Jordan Shipley.

One defeat in six is by no means a disaster but Vale haven't won in three and infuriatingly for fans, Moore's team have only won once at home this season and even then, they scraped through against Mansfield Town thanks to a last-gasp penalty.

They lost three league games in a row at home, against Stevenage, Doncaster Rovers and Leyton Orient. In three of the six home League One matches, Vale haven't scored in three of them.

Of course the home fans would prefer a victory but they are also craving entertainment.

Five goals scored in those six home league games is not anything to get excited about.

After Stockport comes the FA Cup tie at home to Maldon & Tiptree.
