ECCLESHALL seconds had a trio of key performances to thank for their NSSCL Division Three home win against their Leek counterparts.

- Chris Travers

It was Connor Beasley and Jonathan Bramall who set the early standard for Eccleshall as they guided their side to an impressive 219-7 from their allocation.

Beasley took centre stage with an unbeaten 109, which featured 10 fours and four sixes, while Bramall more than played his part with 51. His innings contained five boundaries and one maximum.

Adam Rutterford, Matt Bowcock and Kieran Carr all picked up a couple of wickets for the Moorlanders.

Leek appeared to be in good shape on the resumption as they made good progress to 105-1.

However, Jack Armstrong then entered proceedings to turn the tables in the home side’s favour.

Armstrong took 4-20 as Leek fell to 175 all out, despite Joshua Woodcock (38), Tom Grindey (30) and Carr (28) impressing with the bat.

Audley seconds won a low-scoring encounter at home against Bagnall Norton 2nd XI.
