WOOD Lane made it four successive NSSCL Premier B victories as they defeated Cheadle at Megacre.
It was an impressive fourth-wicket stand of 169 between skipper Danny Brierley and Jake Thompson, which formed the backbone of Wood Lane’s innings.
Brierley hit 10 fours and four sixes in his 99, while Thompson's 85 featured 12 boundaries, as Wood finished their allocation on 261-6.
James Sellers took two wickets for Cheadle.
Cheadle saw Matthew Goodwin and Ryan Harvey shine with the bat after the interval.
Goodwin top-scored with 59, including nine fours and one six, with Harvey chipping in with 49 not out.
However, there wasn't another sizeable contribution and the Moorlanders were limited to 209-8 when time was called.
Eddie Visser claimed 4-31 for Wood Lane and there were a couple of scalps for Martin Dawson.
Ashcombe Park are off the mark at the fourth time of asking as they won at home against Leycett.
It had been a testing start for Anis Raza’s men, but they finally had something to cheer to net their first victory.
Charlie Knott’s 71 masterminded Ashcombe Park’s progress to 277-9 from their 45 overs to put them in control of the contest.
Knott's knock contained 11 fours and three sixes - but it was a solid team effort from the hosts to propel them to their total.
Nathan Ball (46no), David Proffitt (43), Tom Ball (41) and Max Hill (26) all impressed to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
