This was Vale's worst day since promotion and the first time fans have noticeably turned on manager Darren Moore, albeit that was only a section of the 1,600 travelling supporters.
Moore's side were impressive for the opening 25 to 30 minutes and maybe the game would have been different had they cashed in with a goal then. But let's not kid ourselves, it looked game over once Bolton took the lead on 31 minutes. They absolutely dominated from there and Vale could easily have conceded more than four.
