Experience counts for Moore as Vale prepare for new adventure
The Sentinel
|August 02, 2025
BOSS Darren Moore said he will use his knowledge and knowhow of League One when Port Vale face up to Rotherham in today's League One opener.
The Valiants go into the first clash with little information about their opponents and it will take a few games in the division for everyone to understand the other club's strengths.
That doesn’t concern Moore, though, who is ready for the challenge in front of more than 2,000 travelling Vale supporters.
“It can be difficult in the first game but you lean on a lot of experiences and knowhow," he stressed.
“It's a wonderful, huge industry, but in terms of elements of it, it can feel like a village, everybody knows everybody.
“Data now is so advanced, when the season starts and kicks off everyone gets that information but up until a game or two you are relying on your experiences, contacts and things like that. To help nurture you through the opening games.
“We have a group of players all eager to start.”
