DRUNKEN Shiv Mohindra flipped his dad’s mobility car - after hitting two other vehicles in the middle of the night.
The 44-year-old took his dad’s Peugeot without his permission.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard he then drove at an excessive speed on a residential street hitting a van and a BMW before overturning the car. He was trapped in the driver's seat and had to be cut free. Now Mohindra has been jailed for 16 months.
Prosecutor Suzanne Payne said a couple were in bed at their home in Albermarle Road, Newcastle, at 2.30am on January 11, 2022 when they heard a loud screech. The woman looked out of the window and saw a white Peugeot travelling in excess of 50mph in a 30mph zone.
Miss Payne said: “The Peugeot hit her partner's van and continued on the road. It hit a silver BMW. As a result of the collision the Peugeot flipped on its roof.
